Anton Kononov contributed experiential strategy to the revitalization of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., working with Immersive International across more than twenty galleries. The museum is one of the most visited in the world, with around seven million visitors a year.
His contribution set out experiential frameworks for the renewed galleries, including planetary exploration experiences and interactive narratives around the 1,400 objects the museum newly put on display, so that physical collections and digital interpretation read as one exhibition rather than two layers.
